Lahore: Inter-city train drivers in Pakistan have been suspended after he made unscheduled stops to take some yogurt.
A driver of the driver assistant collects a snack from a road shop before going back to the train has been circulating on social media.
The incident on Monday asked questions about the safety and regulation of the train in Pakistan, where the accident was common due to mismanagement and neglect.
“When you stop the train in the middle (from the track) it becomes a security problem. Security is our priority. We cannot tolerate anything that compromised with salvation,” Syed Ijaz-Ul-Hassan Shah, said spokesman for the train Ministry, told AFP on Wednesday.
Passenger service has begun its journey in eastern Kota Lahore and moves south to Karachi.
In a statement of the country’s train, Azam Khan Swati, warned that he would not “allow anyone to use national assets for personal use”.
A train official acknowledged AFP that such incidents were not uncommon in Pakistan, and that supervision was often lacking.
More than 60 people were killed in June when a train slid through farmland crashed into other service cars that had slipped the previous minute.
