The daily number of people hospitalized in South Africa with Covid-19 more than doubled on Tuesday from the previous day.
According to the National Institute for infectious diseases 383 people have been hospitalized with diseases in the last 24 hours compared to 175 in the previous period.
Of the 13,147 new cases recorded 64% were in Gauteng, provinces covering Johannesburg and Pretoria, compared with 70% of 6,381 cases the day before, according to statements from NiCD.
