Mumbai’s new police commissioner is ‘fearless’ IIT alum dubbed state govt’s ‘blue-eyed boy’ by HC

Mumbai: The Maharashtra Government Monday appointed 1986-batch of IPS officers Sanjay Pandey as Police Commissioner Mumbai. Pandey, who is responsible for Maharashtra State Security Corporation (MSSC) before this, only has the remaining months in service and is set to retire in June.

Pandey’s predecessor, former Police Commissioner Mumbai Hemant Nagrrale, has made MSSC implementers. Pandey has also held additional costs as acting Director General of Police (DGP) from Maharashtra since April last year, and released only a little more than a week ago.

This is the second example in the past year when the former DGP – or ‘DGP acting’ – Mumbai Police Commissioner has made. Nagrrery is also Maharashtra DGP before being used as Top Mumbai police. He replaced Param Bir Singh, which was discussed after the case of the Antilia bomb scare and Sachin.

After taking over as Commissioner Monday, Pandey did not overcome the press, as well as general practices. Instead he tweeted.

Pandey’s appointment as Police Commissioner Mumbai came when the Maharashtra government and the center was on the logger, with the former accusing the last of abusing central institutions against state leaders.

It has added that “an officer like [an officer liked by the government] should not be considered to post DGP” as “there will be a relationship of giving and take”.

The court heard a voice on the appointment of full-time DGP in Maharashtra.

In his capacity as DGP, Pandey was assigned to conduct an investigation against the Singh Bir Bir, which had leveled corruption allegations of former Minister of Maharashtra Anil Deshmukh. Pandey plays a role in filing fir and conducting investigations against Singh, who has been accused of allowing alleged irregularities in investigations to recovery explosives outside the Mukesh Ambash Industriwer, AntiLia.
