Delhi University (DU) Representative of Yogesh Singh Chancellor Tuesday launched a university acceptance policy under the Public University entrance test (Cuet), outlining what subjects need to be occupied by students at the entrance to various courses.
Singh also said because the university moves from a cut-based system to a list of achievements, colleges will be given 30 percent of additional students according to their seats, if there is a withdrawal or withdrawal. Sports and extracurricular activities (ECA) for which trial have stopped because of Covid’s pandemic, it will also be back, he said. However, the certificate will also be considered for the same thing along with the cuet score.
Reception Dean Haneet Gandhi said there would be three parts of the 2022 cuet where the first part was divided into two parts. It consists of 13 languages in the first part and 20 languages in the second part. “It is mandatory for candidates to appear in at least one language to enter Delhi University, out of these two parts combined,” he said.
“The second part of the entrance exam consists of 27-specific domain topics. The third part is based on general knowledge that will enter the BA program,” he said.
To enter most UG programs, a candidate must choose at least three subjects from the second part, which has been divided into two parts.
Gandhi said most B.SC programs will be calculated based on physics, chemistry, mathematics or biology. However, 30 percent sign in one language in cuet, it must also be obtained as a qualification criteria.
“To enter the Bachelor of Arts, a candidate must appear in the entrance test in one language from part one and in three subjects from other parts. Merit will be calculated based on the mark obtained by the candidate in the subject and the same language,” Gandhi said.
“For BA Economy (Hons), it is mandatory for candidates to take tests in mathematics for cuet. Merit for this will be calculated based on the sign obtained in the selected language, mathematics and two subjects,” he said.
To enter the language program, candidates can choose certain languages in the cuit or take tests in other languages. However, preferences will be given to those who appear in certain languages.
Yogesh Singh said a candidate can arise because of the cuit in six maximum subjects, where a person must be a subject of language. The best score will be considered to enter.
“To enter through sports and extracurricular activities (ECA), a candidate must appear for performance-based tests along with cuet. Merit for this will be made on the basis of a combined cuit score (25%) and performance-based tests (75%),” he said.
Singh said at this time applicants only needed to register on the national website of the national testing agency who conducted a cuit, after that they might need to register on the website of the DU for centralized electronic counseling. Reception Portal DU – www.admission.uod.ac.in – will be aired tomorrow with all information bulletins and chatbots for assistance.
Asked about the acceptance process which was once a test given, Singh said, “Students will get options to fill their college preferences on the DU website, based on which universities to be allocated. Universities will not say; this will be determined by students. At a round Both counseling, we will give students options to revise their preferences depending on their score if they don’t get their chosen colleges, “he said.
In the case of several students with the same cuet score competing for chairs, Singh there is a tie-breaker formula that has been designed to decide which students will enter.
Singh said the acceptance process would take 2-3 months, and unlike previous years when entering significantly delayed because Covid, this year the delay would not be more than 7-10 days.
